This private visit takes place exclusively before the Vatican Museums open to the public and lasts approximately one hour and fifty minutes.
Guests help open the doors of the Vatican Museums together with the Key Master, the custodian responsible for the keys to the museums’ different departments.
The Key Master opens the Vatican Museums exit gate and collects the historic ring of 300 museum keys, including the key to the Sistine Chapel. The route continues via the Simonetti Staircase and the opening of the Pio Clementino Museum, followed by the Upper Galleries, Candelabra, Tapestries and Maps Galleries with the lights switched on, and the Raphael Rooms.

For the private Vatican Museums Key Master tour, an educational guide authorised by Vatican City State is mandatory and costs €300. Each guide may accompany a maximum of 20 participants.
